Flow cuvette

It is a small, transparent tube built to allow liquids to flow through it. It has two ends resembling windows, allowing light to flow easily. In a flow cuvette, scientists pour the liquid into the tube, and it begins to flow through. As the solution flows, scientists direct a beam of light in one end of the cuvette. They then look at how the light changes as it passes through the liquid on the other side. This helps them learn key characteristics of the liquid — things like color, viscosity, and composition, according to the researchers.

Measuring the Optical Properties of Flowing Liquids with Flow Cuvette

So why are flow cuvettes so special? Their specific design gives scientists the ability to make very precise measurements. Because the liquid passes through a narrow and well-defined hose, scientists can control how quickly the liquid flows. This control ensures that the measurements they make are accurate and reliable, and thus critical to scientific experiments.
